The Virginia Beach Agricultural Advisory Commission serves in an advisory capacity for the purpose of providing recommendations to the City Council concerning issues of special interest to the rural/agricultural community of the City. The committee was established pursuant to Ordinance No. 94-2295A, which was adopted by the Virginia Beach City Council on Aug. 23, 2004. It consists of five to seven members with knowledge and experience in agricultural matters of interest to the City. The director of the Department of Agriculture serves as a nonvoting member.
