Your students will enjoy visiting the Farmers Market and participating in several hands-on activities, including:
“Fun on the Farm” is recommended for students from preschool through fifth grade. Many of Virginia’s SOLs concerning agriculture are covered during the field trip. Topics include the following:
Cost: $8 per child. There is no cost for parents or teachers.

Provides hands-on, minds-on activities using Virginia agriculture and natural resources to teach K-5 standards. Middle-school and high-school lessons are available as well. Continuing Education credits may be received for attending; please check with your school system.
The Farmers Market hosts a Summer Professional Development Series Class for local teachers. Registration for the Aug. 7 class is now open.
